High-tech Retail Sales in Holiday 2009
Since June 2009, US retail sales activity of technology products has been on the rise, up 4 percent over the same period last year. Meanwhile, inventory levels, which were far below previous norms, are on par with 2007 and 2008. In this session, J.P. Mark, CEO of Farmhouse Research, will share his insights on technology sales ahead of the upcoming US Holiday 2009 season. Mark, CEO and Managing Partner, Farmhouse Research LLC The founder of Farmhouse Equity Research, LLC, J.P. Mark is a highly acclaimed equity research analyst. Prior to launching his own firm, Mr. Mark was Managing Director and Director of Research for Wells Fargo Securities in San Francisco. He created and managed the largest small-cap focused research team on the West Coast and established new standards for quality of research and analyst integrity. He was broadly acknowledged by institutional investors as an early advocate of systematic and continuous channel checking. J.P. Mark received his MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1983. He received an MS in Environmental Health Engineering/Public Health from the Civil Engineering Department at Tufts University in 1982. He graduated, cum laude, from Tufts University in 1981. He is an NASD licensed securities principal. Chad Gray, Zyme Chad Gray leads product development and market analytics for the Tech Channel Index program. Chad brings to the TCI program a deep background in the technology channel as well as developing analytics for executive level decision-making. As a consultant with McKinsey & Company, he advised leading technology OEMs, ODMs, distributors, and EMS providers on channel sales strategy. Chad has also held operating roles across the tech industry at Intel, Dell, and NetApp. He holds an MS in Computer Science from MIT, an MBA from MIT-Sloan, and a BS in engineering from Northwestern University. |
