Job Description
Product Support Consultant will be responsible for owning, monitoring and administering customer solutions and resolving functional and technical issues for them on a SaaS based application platform. He/She will also monitor and ensure that all dependent systems and applications are available and are performing well.
Product Support Consultant is responsible for the following key activities:
- Setup, manage and administer customer specific application configurations
- Monitor and administer scheduled tasks and ensure their successful completion
- Triage, prioritize and resolve functional and technical issues within stipulated SLAs
- Coordinate effectively with other internal teams to resolve customer issues, manage software patch releases, infrastructure upgrades, instance migrations etc
- Effectively communicate and keep all internal and external stake holders sufficiently informed on a regular and as needed basis
- Define new processes, procedures, monitoring capabilities etc in helping the organization scale as more and more customers are on-boarded
- Engage in other customer-centered activities like user training, pre-release testing etc
Required skills:
- Excellent analytical skills and strong intuitive ability
- Any industry domain experience. Channel Visibility, a definite plus
- Knowledge on any/some of the following : Java, RDBMS concepts, SQL, ETL tools like Informatica and Kettle, Perl and shell scripting
- Basic understanding of technologies like web applications, Tomcat etc
- Basic debugging skills
- Understanding of Unix or Linux and Windows platforms
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to understand multi-tier architecture and ability to understand how different
functional and technical modules integrate between themselves and external systems
- Eye for detail with ability to clearly summarize and present resolutions
- Experience in product development of 1-2 years is preferable
Required experience and education:
- 3+ years of experience in product support of hosted / Enterprise scale /Client applications
- Bachelors degree in engineering or Masters degree in any discipline
