Responsibilities

• Architect, design and develop data warehouse solutions that support identified Business requirements. This will specifically include:
  • Design and develop data warehouse star schema and multidimensional cubes, based on business requirements, to support high-end, mission critical online analysis.
  • Design, build and implement ETL programs to load, cleanse and transform source data into the data warehouse and marts.
  • Build the supporting metadata repository.
  • Develop DSS queries and reports, batch jobs and operational maintenance jobs.
  • Develop data mining scenarios in support of business requirements.
• Provide scalable solutions to manage large volume imports and implement operational procedures as necessary.
• Design robust data warehouse management functions covering resource management, security, backup and recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, data and cube management and capacity planning, and high availability.

Required skills

• Experience working in an agile development process.
• Strong experience in data modeling and data architecture principles including:
  • Partitioning,
  • Knowledge of aggregation design considerations,
  • Index strategies
  • Cube design consideration and
  • Loading/uploading considerations
• 3 or more years of experience developing Dimensional Models for Data Mart/ Data Warehouse applications.
• Experience in RDBMS technologies (MySQL, Oracle).
• Experience in using tools such as Erwin, workbench.
• Excellent ETL staging environment design and performance tuning skills.
• Excellent SQL complex query, procedure and function writing skills
• Experience in ETL tools (Informatica/Kettle) for designing complex transforms to load data from different data sources into data warehouse/marts.
• Knowledge of scripting language (Perl, Unix Shell).
• Understanding/experience in working within an iterative development environment.
• Strong experience with performance optimization and tuning with reporting applications a MUST.
• Good written and verbal communications skills and good facilitation skills

Required experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in relevant areas of responsibilities

Other

• Experience in the areas of channel management and supply-chain preferred

Education

• Regular Full Time Degree in Engineering, MCA or equivalent from a recognized university/institute
